Temporary Full Time Payroll Technician

The Role: In this role, you will work within our Payroll department, division of Human Resources to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time on a weekly basis. You will undertake a variety of task such as calculating employee hours, regular and over time pay, data entry and validating payroll reports for accuracy. You will also assist in the preparation of delivery of paychecks to all of our operations.
Location: Salinas, CA
Pay Range: $20.00 – $22.00 per hour
Areas of Responsibility:
Collect payroll records daily from various departments and manually validate for accuracy
Calculate total hours worked in a day and in a week in order to apply regular and overtime rules
Data entry of employee hours for payment
Processing internal payroll reports for accuracy of payroll entries
Scanning, organizing and storing payroll records
Assists in preparation of delivery of paychecks such as sorting by divisions, crew, alpha name and checking checks for accuracy
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiar with California Wage and Hour rules
Data entry experience with great attention to detail
Time management and multi-tasking skills
Bilingual in English and Spanish
High School Diploma/GED and a Bachelor’s Degree OR 2 years of related experience
